An Alternate Reality Game is an interactive networked narrative that uses the real world as a platform and employs transmedia storytelling to deliver a story that players’ ideas or actions may alter. Alternate Reality Games, combined with AI-GPT and other AI tools, give us a new generation of Games.

_the story

A narrative about people and events, usually including an exciting plot, is a story. A story can be fictional or factual, and it can be written, read aloud, or made up on the spot.

_the plot

A plot is a plan or main story of a literary work, movie, or other creative work. It can also mean a secret plan for accomplishing an evil or unlawful end or a graphic representation of a scheme

GPT
Generative Pre-trained Transformer: a machine learning algorithm that uses deep learning and an extensive database of training text to generate new text in response to a user's prompt.
AI
Artificial intelligence is the science of making machines that can think like humans. It can do things that are considered "smart." AI technology can process large amounts of data in ways that are unlike humans. The goal for AI is to be able to do things such as recognize patterns, make decisions, and create scenarios like humans.

We name this ARGAI, whose objective is to design games to generate critical thinking; we need to address and discuss raising awareness on critical societal and political issues.

The Game is not created for the sake of playing a Game. The importance of ARGAI is to generate a training program on the subject of the Game. We have designed a specific GAME based on the illegal trafficking of art.

  • Understanding the Art Market and Criminal Networks
  • Overview of the global art market and its dynamics.
  • Insight into the workings of criminal networks involved in art theft
  • Discussion of the motivations behind art theft and illicit trade

The innovation relates to the transmedia concept; we have designed a specific website, podcasts, characters and training program.

On top, a Game platform is created to play the Game. It is in the platform where the learning is happening, so the goal of the Game is not to find the stolen art piece but to understand the whole legal process and the role of each person involved in recuperating. It focuses on the complexity of international cooperation, the values, and hidden plots of billions of euros of business despite the existing EU and international regulations.

The figures of the Magi appear late in the Judeo-Christian tradition. They are first mentioned in the Gospel of St. Matthew as scholars from the East who come to Bethlehem to venerate the Child Jesus with gold, frankincense and myrrh. But they were not yet spoken of as kings or rulers of any country, but as “magi”, which in Persian means priests and astrologers.

In their earliest depictions, painted in the Orthodox churches of Syria and Armenia, there were either two or four figures, until Pope Leo I stipulated in the 5th century that there should be three.

The most influential families – Strozzi, Capponi, Albizzi, Medici, etc. – vied for control of the Signoria, to exercise governmental power and social influence over the Florentines and the subordinate peoples of Tuscany. One of the fronts in this battle was art. The exercise of patronage by the richest families gave them a reputation for being cultured and liberal. It was in this context of rivalry between the powerful that the conflict between the Strozzi and the Medici over the Magi (three wise men) began.
