Exercise 3: The good experience

The Goals

  • To make the individual feel comfortable and confident in sharing stories about her/himself
  • To make her/him identify her/his superpowers
  • To make her/him reflect on values
  • At the end of the module the individual will know her/himself better from different angles and be able to cluster information about her/himself also based on her/his positive experiences and superpowers

The learning experience

Using the Lego pieces you are asked to build the model of a positive experience that happened in your life. Try to use as many pieces as possible and recreate what that experience meant to you. Visualizing that memory and shaping it into a physical form will help you communicate better what your experiences are to others and then will make it even easier for you to explain who you are. You do not have to recreate the exact scenery of that positive experience or replicate it as it was; you can just show what was going through your head, your feelings or simply what aspect of the whole experience made it a positive one.

Exercise 4: Who you are

The Goals

  • To make the individual feel comfortable and confident in sharing stories about her/himself
  • To make her/him identify her/his superpowers
  • To make her/him reflect on values
  • To be able to represent oneself by collecting all aspects that identify one’s personality, characters and/or professional aspects.
  • At the end of the module the individual will know her/himself better from different angles and be able to cluster information about her/himself also based on her/his positive experiences and superpowers

The learning experience

Using the Lego pieces you are asked to build the model of who you are. Similar to the previous exercise, this time you need to go one step further and instead of recreating a positive experience you now have to represent the essence of who you are.

All your positive values and all those qualities that you have or simply the most characteristic traits that define your being. By doing so you will get one step closer in achieving a better representation of yourself and the ability to present who you are and your work at an even higher level. Use as many pieces as you'd like and then show it to some friends, peers or other people, explaining to them what you have built and how it correlates to you.

Ask for feedback and listen to them when they tell you if and where they got confused, what they liked and what not; all those information will help you in understanding where you go wrong with presenting yourself and how you could improve even further. You can even ask them to write down the words/adjectives you use the most about yourself, so that you can later see which attributes you bring up the most.
